Elk Mountain Associates was started in 2004 by Jed Durand.  Jed earned a degree in Construction Science and Management from Auburn University's School of Architecture. Since graduation he has worked in nearly every aspect of commercial and residential construction. As an estimator, superintendent, project manager, trade contractor and hands-on general contractor, he has gained the valuable experience necessary to make your project a success.   

Over the past five years EMA has built and remodeled homes and commercial spaces.  We have also been hired by other contractors for our management, ceramic tile and carpentry skills.  Over the past two years our nitch has shown itself to be kitchen and bathroom remodeling.  These areas tend to be the most used and the most complex areas of a home.  It is here that our skills have been best showcased.

	Examine and interpret your plans or arrange the drawing of plans to meet building regulations and achieve energy efficient construction
	Create a comprehensive cost estimate of your project
	Arrange submission of plans to local authorities for approval and arrange inspections of building work
	Organize subcontractors to carry out all stages of building and negotiate rates of pay
	Calculate quantities of materials, negotiate material prices and place orders from building suppliers
	Arrange delivery times of materials to coincide with various stages of the building process
	Supervise the work of subcontractors to make sure work is of an exceptional quality standard and is proceeding according to schedule
	Coordinate the activities of office staff involved in the preparation and payment of accounts
	Coordinate with lawyers and financial institutions on matters relating to loans and contracts for building projects
	Undertake some of the building work personally
